The North American Atebubu Citizens Association (NAACA) has exhibited its philanthropic and charitable mission again supporting the victims of the Yabraso fire outbreak.

The North American Atebubu Citizens Association (NAACA) has exhibited its philanthropic and charitable mission again. These was after they extend their generous support to the victims of Yabraso fire outbreak which nearly destroyed the entire village. Yabraso is a small village or cottage located within Mem Electoral area of Atebubu/Amanten Municipality with a total population of about 100 inhabitants.

The disaster which occurred some months ago, caught the attention of the Government, the media, Civil Society Organizations like NAACA and individuals within the municipality due to the havoc that emanates as a result of the outbreak. It actually rendered the people homeless and destroyed all their properties. These made the Government through Bono East Regional Minister double as the Atebubu/Amanten Member of Parliament Hon. Kofi Amoakohene and the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Edward Owusu donated some relief items including building materials to the victims to assist them in the rebuilding of the community again.

NAACA got wind of the disaster after an appeal was made through a social media outlet, ATOM TV on Facebook. The TV station was soliciting funds to support the victim’s financially and also to provide them a place of abode since they lost everything.

On Saturday August 22nd, 2020, the Atebubu town Development Committee headed by Akobiahene Nana Owusu Gyimah in collaboration with the the liaison team Mr. Addo Kwarfo, Mr. Gabriel Owusu Addo and Madam Elizabeth Tuah and one NAACA member Nana Addo Bediako, Odikro of Atebubu Mem and Assemblyman of Mem electoral area Hon. Andrew Nimakohene visited Yabraso to present a donation on behalf of NAACA.

The team donated a cash amount of GHC1,000.00 as part of the association contribution towards the rebuilding of the community.
The money was to compliment what other groups and individuals like ATOM TV have donated before, and was geared towards purchasing of additional building materials and payment of workmanship.

Out of excitement and happiness, the Assemblyman on behalf of the entire community extended their appreciation and gratitude to NAACA members and asked the almighty to bless them all for their support.
